Accessibility for Everyone

Who is it for?: Everyone involved in planning, designing, building or testing digital products and services.

Modules: 4

Duration: 1 hour

Summary: In this course, you’ll learn about the fundamentals of accessibility including what it is and why it’s important for people with disabilities. The course covers the legal and regulatory requirements for digital accessibility, how to test for it and understand how it’s measured, along with who’s responsible for accessibility and how you can play your part.

Accessibility for Designers

Who is it for?: For UX, UI and content designers, and anyone involved in the design and development of digital products and services. 

Modules: 22

Duration: 3-4 hours

Summary: In this course, you’ll learn how to design with accessibility in mind to meet the needs of diverse individuals. The course introduces the four main categories of disability (cognitive, hearing, physical and visual), it includes a screen reader demonstration and looks at best practices for designing and writing content that is accessible for all.

Accessibility for Developers

Who is it for?: For developers or anyone writing or with an interest in HTML, CSS or JavaScript

Duration: 2-3 hours

Summary: In this technical course, we’ll look at why using native HTML elements is great for accessibility and the benefits it brings to people using assistive technologies. You’ll learn about the 5 rules of ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications), accessibility APIs and why using accessible names and descriptions is essential for an inclusive experience.

Accessibility for Testers

Who is it for?: For QA testers, but also useful for project managers, UX/UI designers and developers

Duration: 1.5 hours

Summary: In this course, you’ll learn about manual and automated accessibility testing, why they are both important and how and when they fit into the development lifecycle. We’ll look at the different tools available for testing accessibility, some key tests you can do now and we’ll help you understand the expected output from testing.
